Frozen pipe thawing
We distinguish freezing from damage and choose a method suitable for the pipe.
From checking to completion
Step 1. Check the affected supply
Tell us whether hot or cold water is affected, one tap or the whole home, and when it started. We check exposed pipes, the meter and signs of leaks, and consider any building water outage.
Step 2. Explain the method
Pipe material and access determine the section that can be treated. A frozen pipe and a damaged pipe need different action; the method, limits, scope and price are explained first.
Step 3. Thaw and assess repairs
We monitor flow and the surrounding area during thawing. If damage or a leak is found, repair requirements and any extra cost are explained before proceeding.
Step 4. Check flow and leaks
We check connections as well as restored flow, and explain insulation and symptoms to monitor. Photos of exposed pipes and information on hot/cold supply help with consultation.
